There are 23 Kansas high school sporting events, but not every KSHSAA member school competes in all in 23.
Kansas’ larger high schools often have more state championships overall than the smaller ones because they have more opportunities to win them. So The Eagle has taken a dive into the state’s leaders in state championships at each classification.
Note: Classifications were based on the 2019-20 basketball assignments, given every Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) school competes in boys and girls basketball.
