Sunday will be a much more pleasant day than the chilly ride Saturday was in the Wichita area, forecasters say.

Highs will climb near 60 under sunny skies, but the key ingredient will be much milder winds. Those winds will be light and variable, with steady breezes only occasionally pushing into the teens, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday will be a bit warmer, but the robust winds will return. South winds in the teens will gust to beyond 30 miles an hour by afternoon, forecasters say, when highs will top 60 with help from sunny skies.

More sunshine is expected Tuesday, when highs will be in the mid-50s.
