Expect strong winds to buffet any travel across much of Kansas on Saturday.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory on Saturday for 20 counties in central and southeast Kansas, including the Wichita metropolitan area. The advisory stretches from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. for most of the sector and until 5 p.m. next to the Missouri state line.

Gusts could reach 45 miles an hour out of the northwest, making travel hazardous for high-profile vehicles on east-west roads and highways. Staedy winds of 25 to 30 miles an hour can be expected, according to the weather service.
