Another soggy Saturday is expected across the Wichita area, with strong storms possible late this afternoon and evening.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and evening, forecasters say, with highs topping out in the mid-70s. It’ll be breezy, with south winds in the 20s and gusts to nearly 30 miles an hour.
Damaging winds, large hail and locally heavy rains are possible with the strongest storms. Those storms could pack 70 mile-an-hour winds and hail as large as half-dollars.
The National Weather Service is projecting the storms to move through the Wichita metro area between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Winds will shift to the north as the front moves through, with rain chances continuing into early Sunday morning.
