“We were about to launch into book fair season, which is crazy,” she says.
Then Ornelas received a call from Westlink Village, and even though she says her heart wasn’t in it to look during book fair season, she went.

“The more we thought about it, the more we couldn’t pass it up,” she says.
So on March 27, Blue Baboon will open at 9428 W. Central.
The space is 1,400 square feet like the NewMarket space, but Ornelas says rent is much cheaper.
Also, it’s next to Verita Coffee Bar.
“What’s better than books and coffee?” Ornelas says.
Since the new space isn’t temporary, Ornelas says she’s going to make investments in it that she couldn’t with her previous space.
“It’s going to be super cute.”
Like the other store, Ornelas says the new one will have story and science times along with crafting.
“We’re still going to do all the events people love.”
