Former NFL player-turned-entrepreneur Kamerion Wimbley will be in Wichita on Saturday to open two more businesses.

Wimbley already owns several businesses here, including Wings & Things and Twice As Nice Barber Shop, and elsewhere.

Now, he’s opening his first Stadium Status Fitness at 2616 E. 21st, which just east of Grove and next to where he’s also opening the Suites at Kay Plaza at 2614 E. 21st St.

The Suites are shared office space with a conference room and eight suites, one of which is available for rent by the hour. The others are available by the month.

Both businesses will be open to tour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Stadium Status Fitness is something of a combination fitness business, says Rae Kim, COO of Wimbley’s KW Growth Holdings.

“It’s an online platform as well as a studio physical location,” she says.

Clients can work out in the 2,500-square-foot studio, which will have dance and fitness classes, pilates and yoga as well as personal training.

The other component of the business is a service that helps customers find trainers and other health professionals, such as massage therapists, around the country.

“It’s kind of a scheduling service,” Kim says.

She says Wimbley “built this studio to kind of anchor the online platform.”

He’s planning more of the studios nationally, starting with where he has commercial investments. That includes Florida, where Wimbley also lives, and Atlanta. Rae says Seattle is on his radar as well.

There will be a DJ for the grand opening along with healthy snacks, a smoothie and juice bar and gift bags for the first 50 guests. Also, every 20 minutes, there will be 10-minute demonstrations of what the classes offer.

These two new businesses aren’t all Wimbley has planned for his one-time home. Look for more information on another Wimbley venture next week along with the story of why he’s so interested in Wichita.
