It’s catchy, easy to remember and pretty darn self explanatory.
Insatiabowl is the name that Sean Gates has chosen for his new food truck, which will hit the streets of Wichita soon.
Gates, who purchased a pull-behind food trailer online, will serve complete meals in a bowl with a healthy twist. He has several planned but among his first offerings will be a Sloppy Joe Bowl – an ode to middle school lunch made with seasoned tater tots, sloppy Joe meat, seasonal mixed veggies and cheddar cheese; and a Chicken + Mash bowl, featuring choice of mashed potatoes or mashed cauliflower topped with fried or baked chicken, seasonal veggies and a dollop of gravy.
Other bowls he plans: a Salisbury Steak Bowl, a Thanksgiving Bowl, a Cajun Bowl – even dessert bowls featuring fruit, pound cake, brownies and more.
Gates said that he wanted to turn his passion into a career.
“I was looking for a way to employ myself by cooking,” he said. “The idea came to me, and I just ran with it.”
Gates said his first outing will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Barry Sanders football field at McAdams Park, 1329 E 16th St. He also plans to attend food truck rallies like Food Trucks at the Fountain.
