Halloween’s now come and gone, and I hope you had a good one.
Personally, I had a great time, living just a couple blocks from Trick-or-Treat Street in College Hill.
But alas, that time is past and we’re in the home stretch of 2017.

10 a.m.-4 p.m. Fri.-Sun., Mark Arts, 9112 E. Central
This 50th anniversary installment of Holiday Tables, an annual event sponsored by Designing Women, will again feature tables turned into works of art that showcase decorating and gift ideas for the holiday season. Lunch is available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. all three days. A bake shop and gift shop also will be open.
Find the Wine at Walters’ Pumpkin Patch
noon-4 p.m. Sat., Walters’ Pumpkin Patch, 10001 E. U.S. 77, Burns
This is your last chance to check out a corn maze before they’re gone for the season – though this event has a twist. Grace Hill Winery will have tasting stations set up throughout the corn maze, and guests have to locate the wine. I know plenty of people for whom that would likely be no problem. Each station has a sweet and a dry wine, as well as snacks to eat.
ICT Pizza Fest
noon-5 p.m. Sat., Wichita Area Technical College, 4004 N. Webb
Finally, the event all pizza-holics have been waiting for. The ICT Pizza Fest will feature pizza from Pizza Hut, The Rail, LMNO pizza, Papa John’s, AJ’s Sports & Bar Grill, Magoo’s, Domino’s, Marco’s, Gambino’s, Heroes, Old Chicago, Papa Murphy’s and Kolace Dough Co. & Eatery. It’s $1 per slice. It will also have a beer and wine garden, competitions, a dough-tossing demonstration, music, games for kids and a static display of airplanes.

Canines at Cowtown
1-5 p.m. Sat., Old Cowtown Museum, 1865 W. Museum Blvd.
The Paw It Forward Foundation, a nonprofit charity that provides services to pets and financial support to families whose pets need veterinary treatment, is putting on a one-day event that invites families and their pets to explore Cowtown, compete in contests for prizes, enjoy popcorn and more. Mini photo sessions with pets are available for a $10 donation. Dogs must remain on a leash. Retractable leashes must be locked on a short setting. Dogs must be current on vaccines.
‘Red Hand’ screening at the Orpheum
7 p.m. Sat., Wichita Orpheum Theatre, 200 N. Broadway
The Orpheum Theatre hosts the world premiere of a feature-length film written and directed by Rodrick Pocowatchit, made with an all-local cast and crew in Wichita. The film follows three men who time-travel from the year 2081 to rescue a tech genius who could be pivotal in saving the Native American race. When the men get to modern-day 2017, they meet a psychic comic book artist who has had visions of them coming, and ignites a legion of fans to help them when a ruthless officer from the future arrives to destroy them. Starring are Bryon Burkhead, Randall Aviks, Delno Ebie, Brett Patrik, Mark D. Anderson, Damian Padilla and Lindsey Seidl. A Q&A follows the screening, led by Tallgrass Film Association director of programming Nick Pope.
‘Out of Body’ modern dance show
7:30 p.m. Sat., Mark Arts, 9112 E. Central
The Regina Klenjoski Dance Company and Chandler Dances will present “Out of Body” on Saturday, a collaborative modern dance show. It will be the first show the former has put on in Wichita. The dances in the show explore themes of relationships, love and loss through the medium of movement and expressive dance. A pre-show cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m. is $15. There will also be a post-show Q&A.
Singing Quakers Alumni concert
7:30 p.m. Sat., Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1958 N. Webb
The Singing Quaker Alumni Chorus will put on its fall concert on Saturday at the Eastminster Presbyterian Church and will feature a premiere performance of “God of My Life! Through All My Days,” a piece composed in 2017 by Craig Curry, a music professor at Friends University. It will be presented in honor of Cecil J. Riney, who conducted music at Friends University for 45 years. Riney retired in 2005 but continued to conduct the Friends University Singing Quaker Alumni Choir for another 12 years.
Wichita Blues Society 20th Annual Blues Ball
8 p.m. Sat., The Cotillion, 11120 W. Kellogg
The Jarekus Singleton Band will headline this year’s Blues Ball, an annual event put on by the Wichita Blues Society. The show is usually in January, but this year, it’s happening in November, organizers said. Also on the bill are special guests Connie Hawkins and The Blueswreckers. In addition to the live music, the winner of the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise will also be announced at the event.
2017 Wichita Toy Run
7 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Sun., Lawrence-Dumont Stadium, 300 S. Sycamore
The Wichita Toy Run is one of Wichita’s biggest charity events of the season. A gathering of bikes will start at 9 a.m. and their owners will participate in a ride from Lawrence-Dumont Stadium to Hartman Arena beginning at 1 p.m. There will also be a $5 chili feed, a variety of vendors, prizes and more to take part in throughout the day. Participants should bring an unwrapped toy or a cash donation for kids. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Kansas Food Bank, Salvation Army and USMC Toys For Tots.

First-ever indoor Old Town Farmers’ Market
10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sun., Distillery 244, 244 N. Mosley
Have you missed getting your farm-fresh produce in Old Town since it’s gotten cold out? No need to worry. This Saturday, the Old Town Farmers’ Market is officially reopening for the winter indoors. At Distillery 244, you’ll find lots of local farmers selling cool-season produce like spinach, lettuce, radishes, microgreens, turnips, kohlrabi, beets, broccoli and cauliflower. Shoppers also will be able to get breakfast and brunch and sip on cocktails like Bloody Marys and mimosas from Wheat State Distilling while they shop.
